Sikher is a free, open source and cross-platform desktop program, designed to search and display the Sikh scriptures in multiple languages.
Sikher 1.0 Features
- Cross-platform desktop program which works with Windows, Linux and Mac
- Search Sikh scriptures including the Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, 5 Daily Banis and Ardaas
- Sikh scriptures translated and transliterated into 5 languages: English, Spanish, Russian, French and German
- Advanced searching capabilities in Gurmukhi and other languages, including by letters, words, phrases, melody, author, page and scripture
- Customisable slideshow feature showing each line of Gurbani, translation and transliteration in Microsoft PowerPoint or OpenOffice
- Project feature allowing a user to save many different hymns in one handy file
- Akand Paath feature which allows for the continuous reading of the Sikh scriptures
- Hukamnama feature which takes the reader to a random page in the Sikh scriptures
- Export feature which allows a user to export hymns in a variety of formats including text, HTML and PDF
